All Things Go, a Washington DC-based music festival, announced this week that they will be hosting a mirror festival to the main one in New York City the same weekend at the main festival. Both events will take place on September 28-29, 2024.
While the Washington DC festival is sold out, the New York City version has yet to start its ticket presale. In an unusual turn, the same performers booked for the main festival will repeat their performances at the New York City festival just the day after. All Things Go is set to feature top performers like Chappell Roan, Janelle Monáe, Reneé Rapp, and Ethel Cain on September 28 and 29 in Washington, DC, with nearly the same group of performers performing in NYC that weekend. Artists playing the Washington D.C. stage on Saturday could be booked for the New York City stage on Sunday. While the high amount of overlap seems like quite a gamble, interest from fans is very high–especially after the success of the Gov Ball festival in New York City that took place last weekend.
New Yorkers who could not attend the Gov Ball last weekend will undoubtedly be excited about this new branch of All Things Go. Many of the same artists are performing, including Chappell Roan, whose incredible Statue of Liberty stage outfit went viral online. She will be joined by artists like MUNA, Soccer Mommy, Towa Bird, Julien Baker, Mannequin Pussy, and more at the New York installment of the festival, which is being held at the historic Forest Hills Stadium. For those interested, ticket presale starts on Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. EST.
The New York City festival announcement has made headlines for including so many LGBTQ artists. According to the announcement, fans have nicknamed the festival “Gay-Chella,” “All Things Gay,” and “Lesbopalooza.” The female-forward lineup for the New York City festival is an exciting departure from typical festival headliners. Attendees can expect to see out-of-the-box performances at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
2024 marks All Things Go’s tenth anniversary, one reason the festival has decided to expand into New York City. The Washington DC festival is bigger than ever, featuring thirty-six artists across several stages. Notable names that will not be present at the New York City festival include Bleachers, Laufey, Hozier, and Conan Gray. Former headliners include Billie Eilish, Boygenius, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Mitski, Haim, Janelle Monae, Charli XCX, Lizzy McAlpine, Carly Rae Jepsen, Bleachers, Tove Lo and others. The festival grounds will also host art installations, food, and cocktail stands. Sponsors include White Claw, Women In Music, Celsius, and Lumify.
The New York City festival will continue All Things Go’s tradition of creating an inclusive, artistic community. The choice to host the celebration at Forest Hills Stadium has not gone unnoticed. The venue is known for hosting some of the most culturally significant performers of the 1960s and 70s and was renovated and reopened in 2013. It has since been the site of shows from major artists like Drake, Dolly Parton, and Ed Sheeran.
