YouTuber Kira Shannon has been filming her try-on hauls since May 2020 — and now — boasts over 526,000 subscribers who anticipate her next move.
From micro bikinis to leggings, stylish summer dresses and more, Shannon has established what works for her channel, leading her to major social media gains.
In a new interview with Ruthless Media, Shannon explained how she develops the ideas for each try-on haul video, which in some cases, have reached over 19 million views.
“First, I always check which videos have performed well in the past with my channel and try to understand why, so I can replicate them and ideally improve them simultaneously,” the YouTuber dished.
Shannon elaborated how she leans on her loyal fans for inspiration, noting that when she creates her content, her “followers come first.”
“I always read my comments and check if there are any requests or suggestions from subscribers,” she added. “Leaning on your audience will always make your content better — they are crucial for helping my videos perform well.”
Shannon, who also has over 518, 000 Instagram followers, continued, “So listening to my subscribers is essential for improving my content and growing my reach.”
During her try-on haul YouTube videos, Shannon often asks her viewers to comment about their favorite articles of clothing and what they’d like to see next.
“I even have a few hauls that are all clothing that was sent to me from my subscribers!” the viral sensation exclaimed.
The 26-year-old, who lives in Miami, Fla., went on to explain how becoming an influencer was never her plan. However, during her college career, she started creating online content that instantly gained attention.
She said by her senior year at the University of Memphis, she was paying all of her bills from the money she was making as an online influencer.
“It made sense to see my social media career through after I saw how well people were responding to my content,” Shannon explained. “I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received as I’ve grown my platforms from fans, family and friends — and I’m very lucky to have the opportunity to continue doing what I love.”
